Mayfield

In 2000, Mayfield drummer Mike Hollins and singer/guitarist Brian Kelly could not imagine the significant impact their music would eventually be making on the Chicago pop punk scene. Previous demos and their selftitled CDEP, along with minor lineup changes, were merely preparation for a sound that would eventually evolve from that of suburban high school pop punk, to a working band. Mayfields commitment to writing and performing while simultaneously juggling high school and work resulted in a strong fan base within the Chicago land area.

With the release of their deubt full length album, 2004s I Wont Make A Sound, Mayfields sound has reached a new level of maturity, symbolic of their readiness to dive headfirst into the world of nonstop national touring.

The success of I Wont Make A Sound has gained Mayfield nationwide credibility and the opportunity to play shows all over the country. A combination of upbeat tempos along with edgy emotional breakdowns creates a perfect balance, as Mayfield taps into new influences outside of pop punk.

I Won't Make A Sound is a perfect example of progression from a band that has evolved just as significantly as their sound. From the little pop punk that could, to the local pop punk that will, Mayfield is looking towards the stars, and I Wont Make A Sound has the potential to get them there.
