The Allman Brothers Band @ The Beacon Theater - New York City, NY 3/11/05

Well it that time again March Madness @ The Beacon. The brothers have been doing this run for 16 years now. This is my 7th year straight going. March is something I always look forward too, the end of shitty weather and tying one on at the Beacon. I have great seats in the 5th row this year and once again I find myself front and center with my beer resting on the stage. Bring a joint and the front row is yours... bring 2 and your there for the night. Its like the whole Peace, Love, and Hippy thing and it feels GOOD! Here is the complete set list of the night.

Set1:
Every Hungry Woman
Statesboro Blues
Wasted Words
Hiding Place
Midnight Rider
Egypt
Don't keep Me Wonderin'
Desdemona
Hoochie Coochie Man

Set 2:
Rain (Greg on Grand Piano)
Delta Blue (Greg on Grand Piano)
These days
Old Friends (Derek and Warren Acoustic)
Trouble No More
Same Thing (with Marc Ford)
Mountain Jam
Encore: Whippin Post

From a 1 to 10 I give this show a 7. I've seen the brothers do better, I've seen the brothers do worse. But the feeling of the front row @ The Beacon with The Brothers wailing is unbelievable. There is not a better Venue in NYC to see these types of bands. The security is great, you show them respect and you can do whatever you like. There are a shit load of great shows coming to the Beacon this spring so stop being a lazy Fuck and get out to some of them.
