The Allman Brothers Band @ The Beacon Theater - NYC, NY 3/19/04

When March rolls around every year one thing I look forward to Is March Madness with the Allman Brothers. This is my 5th straight year going to Broadway to see the Brothers{Peaking @ the Beacon} My friends are like you have seen the Allman Brothers over 20 times. Why do you keep going to see them? These friends don't know the importance of getting out and seeing some of the best bands in the world. The Brothers are celebrating their 35 anniversary this year{Greg Allman is anyhow}. This show was one of the best I've ever seen by the Brothers{except for the WOODSTOCK 94 show}. Rob Barraco from the Grateful Dead joined the band on stage for a couple of songs in the second set. The crowd was blow away. They break into" Why Does Love Have To Be So Sad " it was great. Then they start fuckin around with some Grateful Dead riff's and broke into" Franklin's Tower" this had the hair on the back of my neck tingling. What a fuckin show then into "Whipping Post".The crowd was blown away. Here's the complete set list

Set 1:
You Don't Love Me
Firing Line
Statesboro Blues
Who's Been Talkin'
Come and Go Blues
Desdemona
Don't Keep Me Wonderin'
Hoochie Coochie Man
The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down(GA)
Hot'Lanta

Set 2:
Stand Back
Done Somebody Wrong
I've Got Dreams To Remember
Leave My Blues at Home
Why Does Love Have To Be So Sad
Franklin's Tower
Whipping Post

Encore: Southbound

Rob Somerville(sax) & Bryan Smith(trombone){Deep Banana Blackout}

Rob Barraco(keys)
From a 1 to 10 this show was a 10. I {HIGHLY} recommend going to see the Brothers. Who knows how many good years Greg's got left. People are like I've seen them already and its no big deal. Wrong FUCKIN answer it seems like every year their getting better and better. I will defiantly hit a couple of the summer 2004 shows.
