The Allman Brothers Band @ PNC Arts Center - Holmdel, NJ 8/25/04

We arrived around 7:30pm and the Allmans actually had a opening act, a first for me. They were called The Bottle Rockets from NJ and sucked pretty bad. I am used to the boys playing 3 1/2 sets without any opening act. The openers sucked but the Allman Brothers did not disappoint.

There set was impressive and special guest Rob Barraco from "The Dead," joined them on keyboards and fuckin jammed during "Memory of Elizabeth Reed." There was a terrible smell in the orchestra like someone shit themselves, this smell was there for most of the set. Damn FUCKING HIPPIES stinking the place up. The PNC was not jammed packed for the Allman Brothers another first for me, in the years past this place is mobbed for the Allman's. Most people missed a hell of a set. Majority of people thought the sound was terrible and the only thing I could tell them is "eat some more shroom's." The sound was perfect and I know this for a fact because I did this show stone sober, thanks to a rough last weekend I was still recovering from! Here is the complete set list.

Revival
Wasted Words
The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down
Woman Across the River
No One to Run With
Old Before My Time
Rockin' Horse
Desdemona
Into the Mystic
Statesboro Blues (Warren on slide)
Soulshine
Midnight Rider
Dreams (Warren solo)
In Memory of Elizabeth Reed (with Rob Barraco)>Drums>Bass>In Memory of Elizabeth Reed
e: Southbound (with Rob Barraco; Yonrico Scott for Jaimoe)

From 1 to 10 this show gets a 9. All in all a real classic Allman's set that I will not forget.
