It is a beautiful summer night. We are pool side at a great party and start to make our way to the show. The show starts at 7:00 . I arrive at 7:15 everybody is drinking in the parking lot . I tell my wife Jennie, we haven't missed a thing. But I was wrong Lynynrd Skynyrd opened tonight's show. The place was still empty everybody was still outside thinking Sammy was opening. Skynyrd came on about 7:10 . I missed the first 2 songs.The stage was set up with whiskey barrels it was an original set up and looked impressive. Lynynrd Skynyrd is celebrating there 30th anniversary this tour. They break into " Simple Man" then into " That Smell" . This is not the Skynyrd of the 70's but these guys still rock. They are now a 8 piece band and their sound is still incredible.They dedicate a song to our troops across seas their new one"Red,White and Blue" The place is finally starting to fill up.Everybody is still wondering why Skynyrd opened, I found out later they are flipping back and fourth with Sammy opening one night Skynyrd the next night.They break into"Working Man"then into "Give Me Three Steps" next into "Call Me The Breeze". One of Skynyrd's guitar players starts playing "The Star Spangled Banner" the place went fuckin nuts he goes from the beginning of the banner into"Sweet Home Alabama" it is now 8:37 and they go off stage for an encore. They come back on and break into "Traveling Man" then into"Free Bird" it is now 8:56 Skynyrd is done and leaves the stage.

Sammy Hagar takes the stage around 9:30 he breaks into "3 Lock Box" The stage is set up like an tropical Island and looks incredible , it is one of the most impressive stage scenes I have seen in a long time. Sammy has fans sitting in the back ground some kind of bleachers on stage and there are a shit load of people on stage. These fans defiantly had the best seats in town. He breaks into" Bad Motor Scoter"then into "One Way To Rock" the crowd is going crazy no one left after Skynyrd was done, which I thought was going to happen .He breaks into "Every Must Get Stoned" and does a good job with the song. Some other highlights of Sammy's set were a couple of Van Halen tunes "Finish What You Started" and "Standing On Top Of The World" We decide to leave a little early to beat traffic. My wife is pissed she wanted to stay for the end of the show,but I wanted to get back to the party. Sorry dear!!!

From a 1 to a 10 this show was an 9 .They don't get much better then this!!!! Skynyrd and Hager defiantly kicked some ass. I thought it was going to be a weird show being they both have totally deferent styles and fans, but I was wrong they fit together nicely.
