Ozzfest 2003 @ PNC Arts Center - Holmdel, NJ 8/18/03

Every summer I look forward to one special show the Ozzfest. I have been going to the Ozzfest every year since they have started in 97.This was the six year and I was glad when the 18th rolled around. This is the first year I didn't arrive at 8:00am and party all day watching both stages at the Ozzfest. It is a tradition that I have to go with Eric "from Nuse" he has gone with me every year expect the first one. He could not get off early from work so we skipped the second stage. So I don't have any review for the second stage.

We also skipped Chevelle!!!

Disturbed-They took the stage at 5:30 pm.Their sound is powerful,the place is still pretty empty for a sold out show.Some highlights were"The Sickness' and "Stupefied"The crowd was defiantly into there performance and Disturbed put on a good set. The played for 50 min.

Marilyn Manson- The freak came on at 6:40 with a basic stage set up. Surprising the last time he played Ozzfest 2 year ago he had a huge crucifix with a baby nailed to it. Marilyn is such an asshole some times. The guy has so much Fuckin talent but he's not happy unless he acts retarded. They break into "Disposable Teens" the sound is powerful as a mother fucker!! The Artcenter still is not filled.The band sounds great and Marilyn voice is clear and crisp. Again this guy has so much fuckin talent it unbelievable.Huge neon light are brung out in the back of the stage spelling Mobscene along with 2 hot back up singers the song is right on the money and the crowd knows it.They break into "The Dope Show" Marliyn is wearing some kind of puppet arms swing them around like a nut.The stage set changes and the 2 hot chicks reappear wearing G strings and playing the Piano for a song then they go on the second level of the stage and play the drums on"Sweet Dreams"Next Marilyn breaks into "It's a Small World" from the Mickey Mouse show. I don't know if Manson's on crack or LSD.They close with " Beautiful People"

Korn- They take the stage at 8:00pm the place is finally full. The crowd goes nuts as they take the stage.They open with"Going Blind"A huge TV monitor is back stage and all kind of crazy shit is blinking on and off of it.Their sound is right on and there loud as shit.They then break into "All Day I Dream About Sex" The crowd is worked up and is going nuts.They go right into "Into the Ground"Some other highlights were them starting to play "Master Of Puppets and breaking into"Freak On A Leash" Korn tore up the stage and put on one hell of a show.

Ozzy Osbourne-The Madman takes the stage at 9:00pm opening with "War Pigs" the place is going bzerk. Ozzy has been sick missing the last couple of shows. There were rumors he wasn't going to play tonight.They then go right into "Mister Crawly"The sound is fuckin excellent. Ozzy sound like he did 10 years ago this man is fuckin amazing. They then do "I Don't No" Zake is going crazy on the guitar as usual. Jason Newson seems to have learned Ozzy's songs quick. He sound quite impressive for just hooking up with Ozzy."Flying High Again" is the next song.He then asks if everybody smoking their weed and goes into "Good Bye to Romance"everybody signing along and it sounds fuckin great!! The pot smoke is increasing and Ozzy breaks into "Ironman" The crowd is loving every min. of the set so far.Ozzy is soaking wet and breaks into"Sweet Leaf".Ozzy is throwing his buckets of water into the crowd smiling and laughing like a little kid.They then do "Children of the Grave". Ozzy introduces the band members then goes into"Suicide Solution" during the song a huge TV monitor displays all kind of extreme sports.Ozzy breaks out his hose and soaks the crowd.Ozzy and the band take a break leaving Zake on stage to do a guitar solo. He has that fuckin thing smokein!! He plays it behind his head like it was nothing going crazier ever min. He then breaks into the " Star Spangled Banner" it was the best I have ever herd. Making Jimi Hendrix's famous Woodstock banner sound like shit compared to Zake's. He is the best guitar player breathing on the planet!!!!!!!!!! Ozzy comes out and does"I Don't Want to Change the World"then into "Road to No Where". Ozzy claims this is the last song and does"Crazy Train" big letters flash across the screen saying GO FUCKIN CRAZY. The people are. They go of for encore and come back with" Mamma I'm Coming Home" They end with " Paranoid"

From 1 to 10 this show was a 10. Having seen Ozzy 16 times and having met him. I can honest say this guy is the King of rockin roll. It is always a FUCKIN HONOR for me to go to an Ozzy show . Can't wait until next year to do it again
