Kiss & Aerosmith @
PNC Arts Center - Holmdel, NJ 8/9/03 |
Saliva opened the show but we were not there to see them. Kiss came on at 8:00pm they opened with "Detroit Rock City" the venue is over sold the lawn is packed like a can of sardines. There is no lawn left after all the rain we have had the last couple of weeks along with all the concerts that played over the last 2 weeks. The hill is trampled mud. But people still had there blankets down. Why bother everybody was standing and the only thing you could see was the big TV screens. This is the only show of the season I had lawn seats for. The seats below went in 10 min. Enough Bull shit back to the music! Kiss goes right into "Shout it Out Loud" the place is going nuts. Peter Kriss is not with the band this tour. He must have taken the farewell tour of 2 years ago seriously. Some other guy was wearing his make up and playing. The drummers name I didn't get I haven't had the time to research it. I have been to 3 different concerts in 3 days. They go into "Do You Love Me" the sound is good a little lower than Kiss usually plays, but it sounded tight. They then break into"Fire House" the crowd is singing, dancing and have a Fuckin blast.Kiss then plays "I Want You" when they finish Gene spits a shit load of blood"his trademark" the flies on cables to an upper stage and breaks into"God of Thunder" after Paul starts playing "Stair Way To Heaven" then says wrong song he then starts playing "Angie" says wrong song then breaks into "Black Diamond" Kiss goes off stage and come out for a encore doing "Love Gun" and then "Rockin Roll All Night" They set was 1hr&15 min. Kiss was not as good as the other times I saw them, but still kicked some serious ass! Aerosmith comes on at 9:53pm opening with "Mama Kin" they go right into "Toys in the Attic" Aerosmith's sound level is way low no were near as loud as Kiss's set was. They go no stop right into " Love In An Elevator"They pause a minute and go into"Pink" This is the lowest sound I have heard at the Arts Center this year. The rain has held out and it is a pleasant summer night. They then do " Burn in Paradise". Then they do a blue set a couple of new ones from the up coming album. They end the blue set with "Babe Please Don't Go" Then then break into the classic"Dream On" then another oldie from 76 " What's The Story" and then "Same old Song and Dance . The boys are not moving around like usual Steven is not running all around his age or being sober has finally seamed to catch up to him.His vocal were great as usual. They go into " Sweet Misery" and then"Walk this way" getting the crowd fired up again. Then they go of stage for about 30 seconds and do "Sweet Emotion" and "Train Kept A Rollin" with confetti flying everywhere in the seating area. They set was 1hr&15min. From 1 to 10 this show was a 9. Both bands should have played a little longer. Havening seen Aerosmith 15 times I can honest say "what the fuck boys turn that shit up" Out of all the money they made last night they are afraid of a lousy $10,000 dollar fine for breaking the local noise ordinance. News flash Steven everybody who played the Art Center this year was louder than you guys. Finally starting to let your fans down Steven? I got so advise for you one of you song titles, "GET A GRIP!"
