Santa Monica, CA – Unsigned bands: Get your demos ready. Takeover Records’ “Sign My Band” contest is back and is once again tagging along with this summer’s Warped Tour. Similar to last year’s contest, the winning group will not only score a record deal from Takeover, but they’ll also get to open for label owner Ben Harper’s multi-platinum band Yellowcard.

Demos for this year’s contest must be dropped off at the Takeover Records tent on any of the 48 stops made by the Van’s Warped Tour. At the end of the tour, 10 finalists will be chosen to be featured on the contest’s MySpace page, where they will then be voted on by the public. From there, one talented band will be picked up by Takeover.

Of the 7,000+ demos collected for last year’s “Sign My Band” contest, Strike.Fire.Fall of Richboro, PA, prevailed over the competition. The band currently has a full-length album in the works, and is set to open for Yellowcard later this year.

For more information on Takeover Records’ second “Sign My Band” contest, log on to MySpace.com/SignMyBandContest. Dates for the 2005 Van’s Warped Tour can be found at WarpedTour.com.
