Q: I have a high speed connection.. Why is the audio stream quality sound low?
A: If you are not a registered user you will hear the default stream which is the lowest quality. Once you become a member you will have the means to select your internet connection speed to Hi, Med and Low in your User Admin section.

Q: My Band has not registered with SoM but we have a SoM Profile, how did this happen?
A: SoM regularly seeks out an scours the internet for artists to add to the system for the enjoyment of our surfers and members. We create artist pages and link them to your website and stream audio in order to push our surfers back to your site to help raise awareness about your band. This is all free promotion for artists. If your band is on SoM and need a password to access the Admin Area contact us and tell us your band name.

Q: We do not want our tracks available for download, is SoM safe place to stream audio?
A: Absolutely, SoM does not make mp3's available for download or redistribute tracks unless they are authorized to do so. In the Artist Admin Area you have the ability to make tracks available for download or not. We use a custom Audio Player which is extremely secure.

Q: As far as track counts, what is considered a "Spin?"
A: A "Spin" gets counted in our system when the entire track gets streamed. Counts will not go up for partial plays so when you see a SPIN you know the entire track was heard in its entirety.

Q: Every time I try to download a song I am prompted to login... Why is that?
A: Only registered members can download tracks designated by the artists on SoM. Register now and receive access to all available mp3's for download. (It's quick and easy)

Q: I am not computer savvy.. can my band mail a cd/demo to StateofMusic.com?
A: Sure Can... SoM is still doing manual submissions by either using a supplied link to download tracks or you can contact SoM for a mailing address to send your press kit.
